What is a good landing page conversion rate?

The median landing page converts about 6.6% of its visitors, according to Unbounce's analysis of 41,000 landing pages, 464 million visitors and 57 million conversions in Q4 2024 (Unbounce). Anything above your industry's median is good; the top pages convert several times better.

How to calculate conversion rate

Conversion rate = conversions ÷ visitors × 100. If 2,000 people visit your page and 130 fill in the form, your conversion rate is 6.5%. Use unique visitors from your analytics, and count one action, such as form submissions or booked calls, not every click.

Benchmarks by industry

Conversion rates vary a lot by industry and offer. In Unbounce's 2024 data, reported by MarketingProfs:

SegmentMedian conversion rate
All industries6.6%
Financial services8.4%
SaaS3.8%

A free, low-commitment offer (a consultation, a quote, a guide) converts higher than a paid sign-up or a long demo request. Compare yourself with pages that ask for the same commitment.

Why your rate may look low (or high)

Ten ways to improve your conversion rate

  1. Repeat the ad's headline and offer on the first screen.
  2. Show the form or main button without scrolling on a phone.
  3. Cut the form to the essential fields.
  4. Put proof (reviews, numbers, logos) next to the form.
  5. Answer the top three objections on the page.
  6. Remove the main menu and unrelated links.
  7. Make the page load in under about 2.5 seconds on mobile.
  8. Add a second action for hesitant visitors, such as WhatsApp or a callback.
  9. State what happens after they submit.
  10. Test one change at a time and measure cost per lead, not just conversion rate.

Frequently asked questions

What is the average landing page conversion rate?

The median across industries is about 6.6%, based on Unbounce data from 41,000 landing pages in Q4 2024. Averages are pulled up by a few very high performers, so the median is the fairer benchmark.

Is a 2% landing page conversion rate good?

For a paid sign-up or a long B2B demo request, 2% can be normal. For a free consultation or quote, it is below the median and usually worth improving.

What matters more, conversion rate or cost per lead?

Cost per qualified lead. A page that converts less but attracts better leads can be the better page. Track both, together with lead quality from your sales team.
